TOKYO HOUSE TOUR

Learn about Tokyo’s built heritage

Launched in 2024, the Tokyo House Tour is an architectural program exploring historically significant residential buildings in Tokyo. Seeking to raise awareness about the need for architectural preservation in Japan, the tour is designed for anyone interested in architecture or urban life in general. This year’s tour features three buildings: Takamitsu Azuma’s Tower House of 1966; Toyo Ito’s House in Koganei (now known as Mujina no Niwa) from 1979; and the House in Hanakoganei of 1983, also designed by Ito. The tour program is organized by Kazuyo Sejima, with the cooperation of Rie Higashi and Mujina no Niwa.

The program offers tours of the three houses on Friday, November 7, and Saturday, November 8. Participation will be determined by lottery due to high demand.

Tours are conducted in Japanese only.
