EXPLORE TOKYO’S BUILT HERITAGE
Art Week Tokyo’s Tokyo House Tour was established by Pritzker Prize–winning architect Kazuyo Sejima to raise awareness about the need to preserve Japan’s built heritage. The tour invites visitors to explore historically significant works of residential architecture in Tokyo, which are being opened up especially for the program by their owners. This year’s program includes visits to Takamitsu Azuma’s Tower House (1966); Toyo Ito’s House in Koganei (1979) and House in Hanakoganei (1983); Kazunari Sakamoto’s House in Daita (1976); and Kazuo Shinohara’s House of Earth (1966).
Tours are conducted in Japanese only. Due to high demand, participation will be determined by lottery. Click the link below to apply.
