TOKYO JAZZ CLUB

The debut edition of Tokyo Jazz Club spans the eight floors of a former capsule hotel near Jimbocho, bringing together contemporary art, performance, music, food and drink, and social encounter in a single site-responsive environment—at once an immersive exhibition, a social space, and a reimagined marketplace where contemporary art is presented, experienced, and sold. Jazz runs through the project less as a subject than as a principle: improvisation, collective listening, and sound as a generative force. Emerging from the legacy of Basel Social Club, the nomadic platform founded in Basel in 2022, Tokyo Jazz Club carries that spirit forward while establishing a distinct identity of its own, shaped for Tokyo.

Visit Tokyo Jazz Club’s ArtSticker page for more information about times and admission.

TOKYO JAZZ CLUB

Tokyo Jazz Club is cofounded by Robbie Okuda Fitzpatrick and Yael Salomonowitz. Fitzpatrick is a contemporary art dealer, curator, and producer known for rethinking exhibition and art-fair formats, and the founder of Fitzpatrick Gallery. Salomonowitz is the founder and artistic director of The Performance Agency, with a practice rooted in performance art, the avant-garde, and dramaturgy. Working across Europe, the United States, and Asia, they build temporary environments where contemporary art, performance, and hospitality meet—spaces conceived as much for gathering as for exhibition. Both are among the cofounders of Basel Social Club, established in 2022, from whose legacy Tokyo Jazz Club emerges as their first project created for Japan.
