Serakai Studio presents Liang-Jung Chen’s installation and durational performance ebb is to flow as wax is to wane, commissioned for the ongoing exhibition “Certainly Tokyo” at Path Omotesando. Built up over the course of several days, the installation features black beeswax forms suspended around the concrete bare-shell space. During the performance Chen moves slowly through the room, navigating the unpredictable interactions of wax and gravity as she builds, lights, and blows out sections of the wax structures, creating an ephemeral environment where candles seem to float and collapse.
