Yusuke Yamatani
"KAIKOO"
October 16 – November 13
Yusuke Yamatani has been creating photographic works not through physical creation but through direct experiences in the world. In handling sand and concrete in the demolition and construction of his new home, he rediscovered the relationship he has with photographic expression. Confronting his discomfort with the way things within frames are accorded an indefinite expanse by the photographer, as well as the confinement of an image, his new sculptural works made from dug-up soil confront the boundary between photograph and reality. These pieces will be part of his exhibition “KAIKOO.”
